Where to Find Ideas for Your Website Content
You may in the beginning have a lot of ideas for the content on your website. There will come a time, somewhere down the road, where you will run out of ideas. Don’t worry about this prospect because there are plenty of places that you can get new ideas for your website content.
With all of the information on the Internet, you have at your fingertips, a huge brainstorming think tank. If you use the information on the Internet you will never run out of ideas for your website.
Here’s where I find most of my ideas for my website content. I use blog and websites that have the same type of information as mine. I also visit article sites and look for articles that have related information of the content on my website.
Do not copy and paste someone else’s work to your website. Use whatever information that you find to generate new ideas for your content. Your visitors are looking for new original content when they come to your website. Be sure that you give it to them. You’ll also make the search engines happy if the information is your own. Getting ideas from other websites will spawn new ideas of your own.
Stay aware of your surroundings. You may see or hear something that may give you new ideas for your website content. Listen to what people are talking about. They may not be saying anything that relates to your content but they may say a word or two that may give you a new idea for your website content. You may even want to start a conversion with people about your website topic. You will at times find ideas from what you see and what you hear.
So, if you are having trouble coming up with new ideas, start searching the Internet for new ones. Just be sure to search for websites and articles that relate to your content. Keep your eyes open and an ear to the ground, you will be surprised at how many new ideas that you come up with by doing this.

Writing Content That is Easy To Understand
Since most of us are targeting average people, with average intelligence, to our website, it is important that we provide information on our web pages that is written in a way that is easy to understand. You want your content to be clearly understood by everyone. In other words write your content for the average person. If your website targets highly intelligent people, of course you would want to write at a much higher level. For most of us, we want to keep it simple because we want our information to be understood by all visitors that come to our website.
You are not in business to impress people with your vocabulary. You are in business, I assume, to make money. You supply information in the hopes that people will buy whatever it is you have to sell.
Using words above what the average person understands will cause he or she to click away from your website. The goal of providing good information is to keep the visitors on your site, there, as long as possible. The longer you keep your visitor there, the greater the chances of converting them into paying customers. I once read somewhere; the level of writing should be around eighth grade level. Keep this in mind when you sit down to write the content for your website.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not implying in any way that the average person is stupid. Most people are in a hurry when it comes to reading the content on web pages. They will scan through quickly to see if the information is worth taking a closer look at or not. If everything is simply written, and easy to understand, your chances are greater that he or she will stay and read your content more closely. Make it difficult to read, and understand, he or she will leave in a heartbeat, never to return.
Another reason to keep the content simple is the fact that there are a lot of people in the world who speak, and can read some English. Most are not fluent, and even fewer can read at a high level. Remember English is not their first language.
Keep your website simple and easy to understand and you will have visitors that will come back to your website to see if you have any new information for them. The more often they return to your website, the better your chances are of converting them to paying customers.

Content Is Still King
While so many things are constantly changing on the Internet one thing has not changed at all. Good content still rules the day. After All, the majority of people that use the Internet are looking for information. The important thing to remember is that you must give it to them or your website will not do very well. Throwing a long hyped sales letter and using it as your website will not get it done.
So many websites out there have no real content. Too often you will see a beautifully designed website with nothing but products on it. This is fine if the web surfer is looking for something to buy but if that’s all you have to offer you are leaving a lot of money on the table in my opinion. I will guarantee you that these types of sites don’t do very well.
Providing good content will cater to the majority of web surfers. Not only that, the content on your site will allow you to get more targeted traffic. Chances are, if they are interested in your content then they will also be interested in what you have to sell as long as it is directly related to your content. Your products should always be content related. Remember, your visitor came to your website for the content. Sell something that relates directly to the content and chances of converting increases many times over.
I know that you think that creating content is a lot of work. It is but it doesn’t have to be overwhelming nor do you have to do everything all at once either. If you were to put up 4 web pages a week you would have over 100 pages on your site in 6 months. If you were to continue to do this you would have a very large website with original content in a couple of years. I know a couple of years is a long time but ask yourself this. How much content will you have on your website in a couple of years if you do nothing.
I know that everyone and his brother says to take the easy way out and use other people’s content and use it for your website. It is better to use your own content because it is original to you. That’s what will separate you from the rest. You will be providing information that nobody has ever seen before. You are the best resource for the content on your website. Realize that many other websites will be using the same content if you were to use other people’s works. Make your website you, not someone else. Your visitors will be able to identify with you much better if the content is your own.
Search engines look for original content on the websites that it spiders and will rank websites with original content much better than copycat sites. As a matter of fact, your site can be penalized if that content is on a lot of other websites. Use original content and your site will get noticed faster and your conversion rates will be a lot higher.
