The Importance of Tracking Your Traffic

It’s really important to track the traffic to your website so that you know what pages your visitors are landing on the most often so that you can monetize the most popular pages to better provide your visitors with the information they are most interested in.

You may be very surprised at what web pages are the most popular. By tracking this website I have found that one of the most popular places is the search page. If I hadn’t been tracking this website I would have never known that nor would I have thought that the search page was one of the most popular here.

There are several ways that you can track your website but I will give you the two that I use for The Truth About Internet Marketing (this website).

The first is StatCounter. In my opinion StatCounter is the best tracking system on the Internet because of all the things on your website that you can track with it. This is an excellent tracker. There are so many things that you can track with StatCounter that it would be impossible to list everything here. I’m only going to tell you about the two tracking features that will help you evaluate where your traffic is coming from and what pages are being viewed the most often.

There are two features in StatCounter called ‘Recent Visitor Activity’ and ‘Returning Visitors’. These two features are just as they sound. The ‘Recent Visitor Activity’ feature gives you where the visitor came from such as a search engine or wherever the person came from and will also display what web page on your website the searcher was sent to. The ‘Returning Visitor’ feature tells you whether or not the visitor is a returning visitor which is really nice because it will tell you if there is a real interest in the topic of your website or not. If you are not yet using StatCounter you really should get it because you are missing out on important information about your website. You can get StatCounter here for free.

The second is ‘Crazy Egg’ which is another great tracking system. Crazy Egg is a little different than StatCounter in that it tracks your visitors after they have arrived on your website. In other words Crazy Egg picks up where StatCounter leaves off. When people come to your site you want to know exactly what pages they are looking at the most so that you know what your visitors are interested in the most so that you can provide them with this info on a regular basis and also make sure that these popular web pages are monetized to its full potential. Most important is to provide these visitors with the information that they came for on a regular basis so that they will come back often. ‘Crazy Egg’ will provide you with this crucial information. You can get Crazy Egg here for free.

If you are not tracking the visitors to your website you are missing out on a lot. The information that it will provide you will help you determine what your visitors want the most from your website and will provide your visitors with a better experience and will keep them coming back for more and at the same time will put more money in your pocket.

Which Is Better; Audio, Video, or Ebooks?

There are so many great ways to deliver digital information products. The question you have to ask yourself is which is the easiest to use, and comprehend for the end user. I vote for video information products because of the ease of creation and it makes it far easier for someone that has little or no understanding of the topic in which the information is being taught to understand.

I know that I personally have read some ebooks that where the information being presented was very difficult to understand. Just because the information may seem very easy for the author to understand doesn’t necessarily mean it will be for the novice in that topic area. Then there are some strategies that may be written in the ebook that may be a bit vague or that give you a feeling of does he or she mean this, or that?

I think that audio would be my second choice. At least with audio the information is verbally explained but then again if the person who is presenting the information talks over your head by using terms that you don’t understand, you are again left to wonder whether you understand the information or not.

With video you get the best of both worlds. You get an explanation on the information that is being presented along with a demonstration of how to do it. If you don’t understand something that is being said, at least you can see how it’s done to get a better understanding of what is being presented to you.

If you think that you will have to get a lot of expensive video equipment to do a video, think again. All you need is a piece of software that will capture all of your on screen actions and a microphone to talk into and a piece of software to record to. You should be able to get everything that you will need for less than a hundred bucks. Simply run a google search for the items mentioned here.

If you are thinking about writing an ebook or doing an informational audio, you may want to reconsider and try going the video route because an informational video will far out sell audio or a written ebook because of the reasons mentioned here and most people are much more comfortable if they can see it in action opposed to the other 2 options and will put a much higher value on it.
