What you Should do Before you Become an Affiliate
Here are some things that you should consider before you decide to sign on with a merchant as one of their affiliates. You really should check some things out to keep you from wasting your time and effort promoting someone else’s product or products.
Check out the merchants pitch page and view it as if you were the potential customer. You need to know first hand if the sales pitch is convincing enough that it could entice you to buy. If the answer is no, move on because chances are everyone else will respond the same way as you. Besides, it’s pretty hard to sell something that you don’t believe in yourself.
If you think that the product is good but the sales page sucks check with the merchant and find out if you can use your own sales page to sell the product and whether or not you can bypass the merchants sales page altogether. This may or may not be a problem. Many merchants want their affiliates to send their potential customers to their website. To be honest most affiliate merchant sales pages are terrible and the fact that most of the big guys will make you send potential buyers to their sales page really cripples most affiliates.
It seems like every affiliate marketer jumps on whatever product is hot at the time. The fact that these products are very hot makes them very attractive. The problem is there will be a lot of competition and a lot more super affiliates selling these hot products. It is almost impossible for the average affiliate to compete under these circumstances.
It may be better to take a look at the not so hot affiliate programs that are out there. Just because a product is not as hot as some of the others doesn’t necessarily mean that it is not a good product. There could be several reasons for it such as the product may not be as well publicized as the others. The big name products generally have a network of big name gurus promoting it while the smaller guy doesn’t have that luxury.
It seems to me that it would be better to fish in a smaller pond where success is more likely and there is not as much competition and will give you a much better chance of making money.
With an affiliate program that is not so popular your chances of being able to promote the product the way that you want to will be more likely because the merchant is probably not making that much money and will be more willing to bend than the big guys.
Do some research over at Clickbank and Commission Junction to see if they have any little gold nuggets sitting there. You may find some great products that no one has taken notice of.
I don’t look at the smaller guys myself. I do intend to some time in the near future when I’m not so busy to see for myself what they have. I figure that it is much easier to be a big fish in a small pond than it is to be one in a big pond. ![]()

Fall of the Gurus Manual
I just stumbled upon this site and found it so ridiculous that I couldn’t help but post it here. They sell an ebook called The Fall Of The Gurus. If this isn’t a scam then there are no scams. I have never heard of this site and can’t find anything about it when I run a search. I have to say that this person can’t be making any money because I don’t know how anyone would be able to find the site. I don’t remember how I found it myself.
Basically this manual claims to show you how to get any ebook online for free. Come on! How can that be possible? Does it teach you how to hack the ebook owners ftp site? Maybe it’s something as stupid as asking for a refund.
The comical part of the sales page is where the gurus supposedly sent him some nasty emails telling him to take down his site. I say him because he calls himself Mr. Anonymous.
He has one testimonial on his sales page telling you that he doesn’t want to bore you with countless testimonials. My guess is that he got lazy after he wrote the first one.
He puts the standard, it could be $197 it should be $97 but for now I am only going to charge you $47 for this valuable information. Act fast because I may raise the price at any time. He can raise the price all he wants because he isn’t making any sales because no one knows anything about him or how to find him.

Blog Blaster Scam
Blog blaster is a submission software that is supposed to submit your ad to 2 million blog sites. The software is a piece of crap and doesn’t do anything that it claims to do. Don’t waste your money on something like this. In my opinion, this software was developed with one thing in mind, to separate people from their money.
Since most blog sites have some kind of plugin that will stop outside submissions should tell you that Blog Blaster is not capable of doing what it claims.
Sebastian Foss, the creator of Blog Blaster, from my own experience and what I have read about him is not exactly the most upstanding Internet citizen. He has also been involved in other crooked schemes as well.
I’ve never used blog blaster myself. What I’m telling you here is what I have read about the software and its creator. From what I’ve read, and what I know, both are pretty bad.
I’ve known about Sebastian Foss for quite awhile because I was on one of his spam lists that I never opted into. I tried to unsubscribe several times from his list but that request was ignored. I ended up having to put a block on his spam mails.
Before I blocked him, I did get an email from Foss about a data entry program that he was promoting. When I ran a Google search on the data entry program followed by the word ’scam’, I found a nice tidy list about the program and that it was nothing but a scam. The program has a money back guarantee that was not honored when people started requesting refunds. Emails went unanswered, and from what I can see, these people never got their money back. You hear the same type of complaints about Blog Blaster as well.
The biggest shocker is that Michael Glaspie endorses Blog Blaster and does so from the Blog Blaster website. You can check out the Blog Blaster sales page here. http://www.blog-blast.com
If you look here you will find the data entry email that Sebastian Foss sent me along with the sales pitch on his website. I submitted this as an article to Ezine Articles a while back as well as posting it on this blog. I removed the program name and Sebastian Foss’s name because I felt that Ezine Articles might reject the submission if I included them.
Anyway, stay away from anything that Sebastian Foss is involved in. Chances are whatever it is that he is selling is probably not on the up and up.

Buyer Beware
With all of the junk mail that we all receive on a daily basis a good portion of them have to be scams. Here’s one I got today.
Brian Queenan, I’ve recently come across an amazing new system where you get paid for entering simple data online.
This is ‘True Data Entry’ not some affiliate mumbo jumbo..Use this new system and quit your day job within 30 day’s. I can say that with complete confidence. This system Is amazing, you don’t want to miss out!
Here’s the sales pitch from their web site. I’ve replaced their company web address with company.com and their company name with company . Don’t want to slam them without absolute proof. There is enough to stay away from them.
‘Get ready to make bigger money than you’ve ever made, doing less than you’ve ever done with our amazing data entry program.’ Announcing an amazing money-making data entry program that allows you to make $500 - $1000 per day working from your home less than 30 minutes a day. I know it sounds remarkable ‘ too remarkable ‘ but it’s true. I know because I’ve been making big money working a little each day with this incredible data entry opportunity. And many of the members of Company.com have, too. An amazing opportunity to make up to $1000 a day for very simple data entry.
How would you like the opportunity to make thousands of dollars each month for less than thirty minutes of very simple work each day? No need to leave home. No need to even leave your pajamas. Work whenever you want as much as you want. This opportunity involves no sales, no customer contact; you don’t even need a website. Work anywhere in the world doing very simple data entry. Got a few minutes? Then you’ve got time to start earning major cash. It’s so simple, too. You don’t need any technical knowledge, no special skills, no advanced training. The entire Company.com system gives you everything you need to start making big money very quickly doing very simple data entry work anywhere in the world. If you have very basic keyboarding skills, access to the internet, and a desire to make as much as possible working as little as possible from the comfort of your home, then you’ve got what it takes. Want to learn more about how you can start making big money for very little work? Sign-up for my free email newsletter and learn more now.
No experience necessary. No one gets turned down. Even if you have never done data entry, you can still get started immediately with this fabulous opportunity. As a member of Companyname, you select the companies you will enter data for and you input very basic information: A title, three or four very simple sentences, and a web address. We even show you what to enter as part of our extremely simple to follow system. No customers to deal with. Ever. Members of Company.com work for as many as 10,000 internet companies that need data entry. The companies that you decide to work for will reward you with a share of their profits from every sale that your data entry work generates for them. These profits can range from $15 to as much as $50 PER SALE.
None of these companies charge you to perform data entry for them and you will be engaged in work that is legitimate and legal: entering data for more than 10,000 internet companies who need your help. Even though you get paid for helping these companies with your data entry submissions, you NEVER have to deal with any customers, make any sales pitches, or handle any products. You just help submit your data entry to these companies through our simple to follow system. It’s simple to begin. As a member of Company.com you will receive a step by step system that is easy to follow. Don’t believe me? Take a look at this: As a member of Company.com. You copy the information from our members’ area and type it in a form online. Hit submit and wait for your check. The more company information you enter, the more you can earn. Get paid twice each month. Every month you will receive a direct deposit or check mailed to your home on the 1st and the 16th of the month.
Finally, an offer that delivers big money for very simple work you perform anywhere in the world. If you’re like most people, you’re approaching this information with a healthy dose of skepticism. You’ve seen plenty of offers for making money from home and you and I both know that most of these ‘offers’ don’t really offer much of anything besides a chance for you to lose money. But this system is different. This system is making me thousands of dollars each day and it can do the same for you, too. This system really works. Look at this earnings statement to see what I made in the most recent pay period.
Their Proof Of Earnings was inserted here. Incredible! $1,313.93 for less than an hour’s work each day. And that’s not unusual. Many people in the Company.com network have earning statements that look very similar or even better than mine. Remember, the Company.com system is real. It’s legal. It’s legitimate. And it works. You will never deal with customers in any form and you will be paid twice each month for commissions on products that your data entry converts to sales. Once you join, you’ll have 24/7 access to your account which allows you to input data and track your earnings in real time. Work whenever you want, as much as you want, wherever you can access the internet. It’s really that easy.
Here’s how it works. Three simple steps. 1. Become a member of Company.com. When you join Company.com, you create a member account which gives you access to our special members’ only page. Log-in to this page and you’ll find everything you need to get started. You can begin entering data in five minutes and start earning cash just as quickly. 2. Use the data we provide you in our Members’ Only area to complete the on-line forms. Everything you need is easy to find and easy to use in our Members’ Only area. 3. Make money. That’s it. The more you enter, the more you can earn. And you’ll be rewarded twice each month with a tremendous paycheck.
Amazing, isn’t it? Remember that this is not one of those ‘Work at Home Data Entry Jobs’ that you see plastered all over phone poles and in the back of newspapers and magazines. This is not a job. It’s a unique money making opportunity available to those who want more for less. Of course, I and many of the members of Company.com are making $300 - $1000 per day using the system, but the amount that you actually make will depend entirely on how much you work. If you act now, however, I’ll include in your membership a special report that tells you the secrets of top money makers at Company.com.
Here’s the best part. You’ve got a chance to make big money working at your leisure from your own home as little (or as much) as you want. I’m offering you the chance to make thousands of dollars every day. Some people would pay huge start-up fees or initial investments for the chance to make that kind of money. But you’ve got a chance to make that kind of money for a mere fraction of what I should be charging. No licensing fees. No recurring charges. No inventory to purchase. Hurry. When the opportunities are all filled, the program ends. Don’t get left behind. Join Company.com now because once we have enough people providing data entry services, this program ends. Don’t wait until it’s too late.
Even though Companyname offers you the opportunity to make huge money, you won’t need to spend huge money to get started. You can join today for only $97. That’s not a mistake. That’s the actual price to join the many happy people doing data entry and making amazing money working when they want wherever they want. You will never pay any additional fees in this program. You can join right now using your credit card or Paypal and in five minutes, you can begin earning money with the Company.com system. BONUS:
Order now and get our free report that reveals the secrets of top Company.com members. Learn how to make thousands each day consistently. We’ll tell you which companies yield the biggest paychecks for data entry. 60-day money back satisfaction guarantee. I’m so sure that you are going to be absolutely thrilled with this system that we offer you a 60-day money back satisfaction guarantee. That’s something I couldn’t afford to do if this system didn’t work. Could I possibly make this any easier for you to make more than ever with less? Time Sensitive Offer! Memberships are now limited. This offer will end soon. JOIN TODAY FOR JUST $97
After reading this I’ll admit that I had my credit card out and was ready to buy this incredible opportunity. Then a little voice in my head told me to stop. This is too good to be true. I went to google and ran a search for company.com scam and low and behold a nice little list of forum posts came up with complaints that this is a scam and that they couldn’t get the refund that they were promised if they weren’t completely satisfied. From what I can tell this supposed system has never delivered on its claims. Many of the people on these forums have issued complaints with the Better Business Bureau. You can contact them online at http://bbb.com.
The point of this article is to be careful of what you buy. Do research before you decide whether or not to buy. Run a search of the company in question followed by the word scam. Also check at http://bbb.com to see if anyone has issued a complaint against them. The light that should go off in your head is, if the offer is too incredible to believe it’s probably a scam. Do the research before you buy. It saved me ninety seven bucks and a lot of headaches.
