I have a free html text editor that I just finished updating and have made it available for download from here. This free html text editor is not anything fancy but it has been designed for easy use.

Rich Jerk Replies to the Sale of His Empire

After the news of the sale of ‘the Rich Jerk’ empire last week the Rich Jerk responds to the claims that he is selling his online business to avoid bankruptcy. He says on his blog that his business is not up for sale.

If what ‘the Rich Jerk’ says is true then why was it advertised for sale last week on BizQuest? The ad has since been removed. Sounds to me, like, ‘the Rich Jerk’ has something to hide.

He goes on with his usual trash talk saying how he is better than everyone else and that the rumors were spread by website owners to get traffic to their website. That’s not the case. The fact remains that his business was advertised for sale a week ago and today it is not there.

He went on to say that he was going to sue the big name marketers for putting the news of the sale on their websites. I don’t know what grounds he figures to sue on since his business was clearly advertised for sale.

Yesterday I posted the above title and simply posted the link to the article in question. If you were here yesterday you may have been scratching your head as to why a site like this one would post a link like this and wondering what it has to do with Internet Marketing. Actually it has nothing to do with Internet Marketing and at the same time has everything to do with it.

The intention was to grab everyone’s attention. The fact that a whopping 98% of my visitors yesterday clicked that link is very telling in itself, considering that the article in question is 2 years old is impressive enough but the fact that it attracted people to it from an unrelated website is even more impressive.

While the title has absolutely nothing to do with Internet marketing the response in itself has everything to do with it in that it created a great deal of curiosity.

Make people curious and you will get clicks even if it has nothing to do with your website. Create curiosity that is related to the topic of your website and you will convert those curious visitors to paying customers.

While the above title will not make any sales it is compelling enough to make people click to see what the deal is. I didn’t put it here to sell anything I put it here to prove a point. The point is, if your headline makes people curious, even if it has nothing to do with the topic on your website they will click on it.

The people who come to this website are looking for information related to Internet marketing. Imagine how well a well written curious headline would do if it was Internet marketing related?

A curious headline in itself will not covert your visitors to paying customers. You must give them a compelling answer to the headline in question that made them click in the first place or you will not convert them to sales.

We humans are very curious animals and are curious by nature. Use this natural tendency to your advantage and you will do well. Curiosity may have killed the cat but it can make an Internet Marketer rich.

It’s no secret that I really like using articles to promote my online businesses. The fact that this site got noticed from the very beginning is largely due to the fact that a lot of the promoting that I did was through articles that I submitted to various article sites.

I will tell you again, there are few better ways to promote a business than with article writing. The best part of promoting using an article site is that it is free and is in most cases better than any other type of submission service that you have to pay for. The results are generally far better.

When you submit an article and it is accepted it can be picked up by many other websites which will give you extra back links to your website without you having to do anything more than submit it in the first place. I submitted ten articles for this blog and submitted them to three different article sites. Google Rips Off Microsoft Live

It’s nice to see that Microsoft is getting its due. I for one am glad that someone has taken from Microsoft for a change instead of the other way around.

I remember the release of MS Dos 6.0 that had Symantec’s defragger included in the software release. I originally thought that Microsoft and Symantec had an agreement since Microsoft never bothered to remove Symantec’s name from the software or change the name of the defragger.

It wasn’t until Symantec sued Microsoft for copyright infringement that I realized that Microsoft had ripped off Symantec.

I guess the bigger, and more powerful companies get, the more they figure they can get away with. With all of the money and power the two companies have, I guess they can. What’s a few million dollars to these two business giant’s? Bottom line, what goes around comes around. It finally has come around for Microsoft and Bill Gates.

The Keyword Mess

While optimizing your website with good keywords is an important part of your search engine strategy, I do think however, that too many webmasters spend way too much time tweaking it to death. I don’t think that this is a good idea nor do I think that it is beneficial to their website. All that time spent on one thing while neglecting the rest of their marketing strategies in the long run is hurting their online business. So much time is wasted getting those keywords just right actually hurts the quality of the content on their web pages.

I know that most of us are taught to find a main keyword and build your website around that keyword. I know that’s what I did in the beginning. I think that’s a big mistake because it takes away from the quality of the content on the website because too much focus is put on the keyword trying to fit it in to get that web page optimized for the search engines. I’ve seen so many websites where you can tell that the website was built around specific keywords because so much of the content is really hard too understand and that it doesn’t make much sense at all. You can actually pick out the keywords because they are used so many times. While you need to use your keywords throughout your content, you don’t need to overkill them. Using your keywords too often will actually hurt you with the search engines more than it will help you.

There’s a better way to optimize your website without hurting your content. I have found that the best way to optimize a web page is to use just one keyword that is super targeted to the content on that web page. Use the best keyword that you can possibly find and put it aside for the moment. Using a good word processor go and write the content for your web pages. Forget about using your keyword or writing any html tags altogether until you have finished writing the content. When you have finished writing your content, read through it to make sure that it makes sense. Also check to see if your content doesn’t already have a keyword that you may have already written unintentionally that may be better than the one that you have already chosen. I have found many great keywords by going through this process. It is advantageous to check to see if there are any hidden gems sitting there in the already written content.

If there is not a better keyword within your content, you can now go back and start inserting your keyword in the body your web page. The main objective when doing this is that your keyword blends in with the content in a way that it makes sense. You will probably have to make some changes so that it does blend in, and that it does makes sense. Of course you will need to put your keyword in the normal places. It should appear in the title, description Meta tag, keyword Meta tag, heading, and the body. The body is where the keyword is most abused by webmasters. While the keyword needs to appear throughout the body, it doesn’t need to be there hundreds of times. Using your keyword two to three percent of the time within the body is more than sufficient.

Repeat the above process for all of your web pages. You will find that you will have a well optimized website that makes perfect sense.

The last and probably the most important thing that you need to do when you are finished is to forget about doing any more optimizing. It takes time to see if your chosen keyword will be of benefit or not. If you use a super targeted keyword it will be. Forget about it and go focus on the things that you need to get done with your online business that you may have been neglecting

Is Getting Web Traffic an Endless Chore?

If you are one of most webmasters getting web traffic probably feels like an endless chore with little or no results. You probably have shelled out a handsome amount of money to this end. I see it all the time.The biggest problem is that most Internet marketers look at the normal ways of advertising their web site. They try to market their product online as the only means of advertising. Think for minute here. Before the Internet, how would have you tried to sell something?

If you do what everyone else does you’ll get what everyone else gets which is nothing. After reading this I’ll admit that I had my credit card out and was ready to buy this incredible opportunity. Then a little voice in my head told me to stop. This is too good to be true. I went to google and ran a search for company.com scam and low and behold a nice little list of forum posts came up with complaints that this is a scam and that they couldn’t get the refund that they were promised if they weren’t completely satisfied.
