The Google Adsense Program

It never occurred to me to explain how the Google adsense program works until I received a few emails from subscribers of this website asking for an explanation of how the Google adsense program works.

The Google adsense program is an offshoot of the Google adwords program. Actually, the Google adsense program could not exist without the Google adwords program.

It would be really difficult to explain the Google adsense program without explaining what the Google adwords program is.

In short, the Google adwords program is a pay per click advertising program. Pay per click is a method of advertising where the advertiser only pays for the ad when someone clicks on it. An advertiser will setup an ad based on keyword bids. The placement of the ad is dependent on what the advertiser bids on the keyword for the ad. The more that the advertiser bids for the keyword, the higher the bid, the higher the placement the ad will be on the google sponsored listings which are displayed to the right of the normal listings on the search results pages. There are other factors that also determine where an adwords ad is placed on Google’s search results pages. You can get more info here.

An advertiser will need to open an adwords account before he or she can use the adwords program. Here’s where an advertiser would need to go to signup.

The Google adsense program runs through what is called the Google content network which is a part of Google’s adwords program. Google’s content network is comprised of websites that display adwords ads.

If you have a website and wanted to display adsense ads on it, you would have to first signup for the Google adsense program and your website would have to be reviewed and accepted by Google before you can display adsense ads on your website. Once approved, you would then place a snippet of code on your website in order to display adsense ads on your website. Once your adsense ads goes live on your website, your website then becomes a part of Google’s content network.

The types of adsense ads that are displayed on websites are based on the content on that website. If a website is about computers, the adsense ads should display computer related ads. The main idea of the Google adsense program is that all ads that are displayed are targeted to the websites visitors interests.

When a visitor clicks on an adsense ad, the owner of the website where the ad is displayed gets paid a percentage of the advertisers bid.

This is just an overview of how the Google adsense program works. Hopefully, this has given you a better understanding of the Google adsense program. You can get more info on the Google adsense program here.

Internet Marketing Affiliate Program

Before you join any Internet marketing affiliate program you should take into consideration how competitive the Internet marketing affiliate program is and if the product or products they offer are any good.

You don’t want to join an Internet marketing affiliate program that is too competitive because the competition will be fierce and it will be very difficult to compete with affiliate marketers who are more experienced and are better at it than you are.

There are generally quite a few super affiliate marketers in very competitive Internet marketing affiliate programs and they generally can offer a more attractive deal for their potential customers and will almost always be able to beat out the less experienced affiliate marketers.

If you are not an experienced affiliate marketer you are much better off trying a less competitive Internet marketing affiliate program rather than a competitive one because you will have a much better chance in this type of affiliate program because you will be on a much more level playing field than with the more competitive Internet marketing affiliate program.

Just because an Internet marketing affiliate program is less competitive doesn’t mean that it isn’t as good. It just means that less people know about it which is good for you. You want to find Internet marketing affiliate programs that are low in competition and offer a good product.

A great place to check is clickbank. The clickbank marketplace is a place where different Internet marketing affiliate programs are listed.. Clickbank only offers digital products. The nice thing about clickbank is they list the affiliate programs by most popular on down to the least popular Internet marketing affiliate program.

What you want to do is go and find the less popular programs on the list and run a google search on the affiliate program to see if anyone is making any negative comments about the affiliate program. If you find only positive comments about the Internet marketing affiliate program then the product that they offer is probably good and will probably be a good choice. You can find clickbank here. http://clickbank.com

Google Adwords Promotional Code

What is Google adwords promotional code? Here is a short overview of what it is and how it works. I will give you a link at the end of this post that will give you more detailed information about the Google adwords promotional code.

The Google adwords promotional code is offered to new adwords advertisers only. You are offered an option when signing up for Google adwords to give your Google adwords promotional code if you have one. This is optional.

You get your adwords promotional code by signing up with a service that will handle your adwords campaigns for you. The service may be a company or an individual who will offer you an introductory credit for a certain amount that is generally from $25 to $100 credit for your initial awords campaign.

These services use the adwords promotional code as an incentive to get you to sign on with them.

Google does require these services to be qualified and they must take an exam to become a professional adwords advertiser before they can offer the adwords promotional code to its customers.

If you were wondering what the Google adwords promotional code meant and what it was for. this is the short version. You can find a longer and more detailed explanation of the Google adwords promotional code here.

Are You a Blogging Dummy?

This blog was the first blog that I ever setup and I can tell you that I was the biggest blogging dummy there is. If you are as ignorant as I was about blogging in the beginning you probably are as big of a blogging dummy as I was.

I was such a blogging dummy that I had no idea what a blog was or how powerful of a marketing tool a blog really is.

I’ve been in Internet marketing for a long time but I’ve always owned html websites. With what I know now about blog websites and the benefits that come with a blog I will never go back to an html website again.

Here’s what a blog is in case you are just as big of a blogging dummy as I was. The word blog is short for weblog, which is basically an online journal. At least that was the idea of a blog in the beginning and a lot of bloggers still use a blog for this purpose but blogs have morphed into much more than that over the years.

Over time, online businesses saw the potential of setting up a blog and monetizing it so that they could do business from the blog because of the built in tools that would help them drive potential customers to their website.

In case you are a real blogging dummy and have never come across a blog until now, wordpress is the best and most powerful blog software out there because of its flexability and because you have full control over what you want it to do and look like. Wordpress is a free standalone blogging software and was perfect for a blogging dummy like me because of its ease of use. You can find wordpress here.

If you own an online html website and are not doing well with it, it might be a good idea to move it over to a blog because it will be a lot easier to get traffic with a blog. I know that you are still a blogging dummy but the best way to learn how to use a blog is by actually using it. I know it was for me.

You can find more info on blogging here. First go and download wordpress because it will be a lot easier to learn it as you go. You won’t be a blogging dummy for long because it is pretty easy to learn. I was a blogging dummy and I can tell you that I now have it down cold. :)

Adsense Arbitrage

I’ve been reading quite a bit about Adsense Arbitrage just to see what all the noise is about. From what I’ve read it seems to me that Adsense Arbitrage wouldn’t be a good idea for people who have little or no knowledge of the pay per click process.

With Adsense Arbitrage you advertise your website using a pay per click program in the hopes that your adsense ads will get clicked and those clicked ads will make you more money than what you paid for in pay per click advertising in case you didn’t know what Adsense Arbitrage was.

I have never tried the Adsense Arbitrage method but it’s pretty risky and it seems like you would have to constantly stay on top of your campaigns because you could very easily and quickly lose money with Adsense Arbitrage.

If you were to use adwords for your pay per click advertising with Adsense Arbitrage you would have to find very low cost keyword phrases in order to make Adsense Arbitrage worth your while and since adwords can be very expensive it would be pretty hard to make money using the Adsense Arbitrage method. A relatively low bid on a keyword phrase with adwords would be around 40 cents a click. Unless you get a high click rate and a high per click payout with your adsense ads it will be difficult to profit with Adsense Arbitrage. Even if you could get a 50% click rate on your adsense ads and averaged 80 cents a click you would only break even. I’m not saying that this scenario impossible, but it is improbable.

The only positive that I can see with Adsense Arbitrage is that if you use the right keyword phrases you are guaranteed traffic to your site and a percentage of that traffic will come back if your website has good information.

The only way that I can see Adsense Arbitrage possibly working is by using smaller pay per click advertising sites such as goclick. At least with goclick you can get highly competitive keyword phrases for pennies per click which would help make Adsense Arbitrage more profitable. In most cases it won’t cost more than 3 cents a click to get your ad near the top of the pay per click listings. That’s more workable because you won’t need a high click through rate or payout to make money with Adsense Arbitrage. If the average payout per click for your adsense ads were 30 cents a click you would only need 1 click on your adsense ads for every 10 clicks on your pay per click ads to break even assuming that it costs 3 cents a click for your pay per click ad which means that any keyword phrases below the 3 cents would make a profit at the same click through rate and payout on your adsense ad.

With that said, I don’t know what types of websites that goclick serves its pay per click ads on or how targeted they are and how much click fraud if any, there is.

I am really skeptical when it comes to Adsense Arbitrage and won’t be trying it without further research because from what I can see, a lot of things can go wrong and a lot of things have to go right in order to make money with Adsense Arbitrage.

If you have been thinking about trying Adsense Arbitrage you will be better off using a pay per click site like goclick rather than Google adwords or Yahoo because the cost is a lot lower making the risk much less. Approach Adsense Arbitrage with a heavy dose of skepticism and start with a very modest spend to see what websites your ads are being served on. Also use a tracking system outside of goclick that will show how long those clicks are staying on your website. If all of the clicks are not spending any time at all on your website chances are there is click fraud going on. The best tracker to use is StatCounter because it will tell you where the clicks are coming from and how long these people are staying on your website. Monitor your progress very closely.

Adsense Arbitrage sounds very inviting at first glance but by looking closer you will see that there is a lot of risk involved if done improperly or done without close monitoring on your part.

One last thing that you should look at with Adsense Arbitrage is Google’s stand on this practice. I don’t think that Adsense Arbitrage is what Google had in mind for their ppc advertisers when they came out with the adwords pay per click program. Keep in mind that Google may frown on Adsense Arbitrage and at some point may not allow it.

Adsense Quality Score

Did you know that Google has an adsense quality score rating for websites that display adsense ads? I didn’t know that until recently and have gotten higher payouts as a result of making some small changes to my website.

It is really amazing what a few changes can do to increase your payout by getting a higher adsense quality score. For example a website that has a low adsense quality score may get 10 cents a click while a website with a high adsense quality score will get 40 cents a click for the same ad. That’s a whopping 400% difference in payout for the same ad. That’s too big of a difference to ignore.

Here’s what your website should have to achieve a high adsense quality score.

1.) Your website should be content rich and it should be obvious what your website is about.

2.) A privacy policy in place that is prominently linked on your website. (preferably from the home page)

3.) An about page that tells your visitors what your website is about and also must be prominently linked on your website.

4.) A link to your contact page. This can be as simple as a mailto: link that pops up the users email program such as Outllook Express and the link must be prominently displayed on your website.

5.) A link to your home page or an authority website within your niche.

6.) All of your adsense ads should be displayed on web pages that are a part of a website and should not be a single page that stands alone.

As I said before I was surprised to find that Google has an adsense quality score and that it affects how much you will get per click based on that quality score.

If your website doesn’t comply with what Google perceives as a high adsense quality score you should go and correct whatever you need to do using the above criteria to improve your adsense quality score.

The Best Internet Marketing Strategy

If you were to ask 100 marketers, what the best Internet marketing strategy is you will probably get a 100 different answers to what the best Internet marketing strategy is. Because we are all different and we all have different types of online businesses there is no definitive answer to what the best Internet marketing strategy is.

While there isn’t one best Internet marketing strategy that is the end all to your marketing woe’s, here’s the best Internet marketing strategy for me, that has worked very well and could be implemented by anyone no matter what online business you may have.

As you know, this site is a blog. Because of the very nature of a blog this is the best Internet marketing strategy for a blog website in my opinion. Because a blog allows you to individually post or write articles makes this very easy to implement.

Have you noticed how many times so far, I have used the phrase best Internet marketing strategy? If you haven’t, that means that I have blended the phrase best Internet marketing strategy into this post very well.

Because of the fact that you can post over and over again on a blog and each post is considered its own entity makes this the best Internet marketing strategy for a blog. The reason being is that you can use a different keyword or keyword phrase for each and every post that you write.

Here’s the best Internet marketing strategy that I try to implement when I post. I don’t always do this because some things that I write about, just doesn’t make sense to do so. Above I asked, have you noticed how many times so far, I have used the phrase best Internet marketing strategy? The reason I asked that question is because you want to use your keyword or keyword phrase often throughout each post. The keyword phrase that I am using for this post is best Internet marketing strategy so I want to use it throughout this post to help the keyword phrase to rank well on the search engines.

What I do is look for keyword phrases that are not very competitive. As with most non-competitive keyword phrases there probably won’t be a ton of searches either. Because you can use different keywords for every post you don’t need a lot of searches. For the keyword phrase, best Internet marketing strategy, there were only 500 searches for this keyword phrase last month. If I have 100 posts of low searched and low competitive keywords and each got me 100 clicks a month, would give me 10,000 visitors a month. While one keyword phrase may not get you much traffic, combined keywords will which is why this is the best Internet marketing strategy for a blog or website that has many web pages. Over time it all adds up to a nice traffic generator.

So many marketers ignore the non-competitive keyword phrases because of the low traffic volume that the keyword phrase will yield them. While the keyword phrase best Internet marketing strategy only yields 500 visitors a month, it is 500 more than I am getting now. If webmasters realized that this can be duplicated over and over again and yield them thousands of visitors a month from the low yielding keywords when they are combined, I would think that more marketers would use this strategy.

If you keep trying to use highly competitive keywords and keyword phrases that yield high traffic volume, it probably won’t get you ranked high enough on the search engines to get your website found. My best Internet marketing strategy allows you to use many different keywords that are low in competition and will give you a better chance of getting you indexed high on the search engines and get you some real traffic to your website.

There it is, my best Internet marketing strategy. I hope you liked it? :)
